macOS Wake-on-LAN
Macs support wake from sleep, and it is enabled by default.
Find the MAC Address
- On your Mac, choose Apple menu >
System Settings, then clickNetworkin the sidebar. - Select the network that is
Connectedto the local network. - Click
Advancedon the right. (You may need to scroll down.) - The MAC address is listed in the pop-up.
Enable WoL on a Mac laptop
- On your Mac, choose Apple menu >
System Settings, then clickBatteryin the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) - Click
Optionson the right. - Click the menu next to
Wake for network access, then choose an option. - Click Done.
Enable WoL on a Mac desktop
- On your Mac, choose Apple menu >
System Settings, then clickEnergy Saverin the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) - Turn on
Wake for network accesson the right.
Confirm the MAC Address is not set to rotate
- On your Mac, choose Apple menu >
System Settings, then clickNetwork. - Select the network that is
Connectedto the local network. - In the
Private Wi-Fi addresssection, confirm the setting is set toFixedorOff.
